Meet Shaun, Arisya and Ifah
This week, we caught up with Shaun, Arisya and Ifah and found out more about them.

Meet Shaun
Name: Loy Yun Peng Shaun
Age: 17
Occupation: Stand up comedian
Team: Dot.Matrix

Shaun is a class rep in the DMC course and has been on the job for one and a half years so far. Its a responsibility that comes naturally to him - to have fun while assuming his role.

"Aiyaa, its no big thing laaa"

Talented in many ways, Shaun has a knack for being the funny man who tickles everyone's funny bone. Humour helps clients feel at ease during meetings, something worth noting in a business sense.

Q:Do you think from being a class rep, you have gained any advantages over the rest of the competitors?
A: No, it's just a responsibility, not an advantage or an authority.

Q: What can your team expect from you?
A: Humour and creative ideas.

Q: Why should Rajan hire you?
A: Because I'm a motivator who hardly gets down, so I can encourage the team with jokes and great ideas.

Meet Arisya
Name: Arisya Sulaiman
Age: 19
Occupation: Proffesional musician
Team: Paperbagg

Arisya is a hardworking individual who has successfully made it onto the honour roll twice within two semesters in the DMC course. She is en route to earning scholarships and wants would love to go overseas given the opportunity.

"It's heart breaking seeing others go abroad to study, I want to go too."

Determination is key in getting yourself somewhere in business. Arisya has several goals in life she wants to accomplish.

Q: What's the most outstanding feature about you?
A: I can talk to plants. I know how they feel, that's why I refuse to eat them. BOYCOTT VEGGIES.

Q: Why would your group members want you to be Project Manager?
A: Because life is short.

Q: Why should Rajan hire you?
A: Because I'll rub his belly for good luck.

Meet Ifah
Name: Nuratifah Mhd Yunos
Age: 17
Occupation: CEO of a tudong production company
Team: Paperbagg

Nuratifah, or Ifah as she is known, is dedicated to her cause - helping Muslim women find their right tudong. She commits herself to coming up with different designs to diversify the current range of tudongs available. But behind the tudong lies a person who is willing to have fun and enjoy herself.

"Hahaa, I really enjoy having fun too!"

A balance of commitment and fun is factor that encourages employees to stay with a company.

Q: What would you say is your selling factor?
A: Mysterious-ness. People always wonder what's underneath my tudong. Ahhaa. That's why people talk to me.

Q: What do you think you can be remembered for?
A: The different coloured tudongs I have.?

Q: Why should Rajan hire you?
A: I have all tudongs to suit everyone regardless of size.? (get what I mean.?) Hahahaa.

Meet Nad
Name: Nadhirah Wahid Saini
Age: 18
Occupation: CEO of Mascot services company
Team: Dot.Matrix

Nadhirah, also known as Miss Nad, is a diligent student in the DMC course and manages to score reasonably well for each module.

“People like me in class, and that’s a good thing.”

Well liked by all in class, she has excellent social skills, needed in the business environment.

Q: What do you think makes you stand out from the rest of the candidates?
A: My stripey specs.

Q: Why should Rajan hire you?
A: Cuz I dun mind going to KTM for food all the time if he wants me to.

Q: What is your biggest strength that you’d bring to the team you’re on?
A: CRAZY FUN! Who likes being in a nerd team anywayyy.

Meet Joanne
Name: Yeo Xin Le Joanne
Age: 18
Occupation: Sushi outlet owner
Team: Dot.Matrix

Xin Le, known as Joanne, is a student in the DMC course and performs within expectations for the modules she takes.

“Living up to my sister’s standard is not easy.”

Succeeding her sister in the same course and school, it has not been easy to fill in the shoes of her bigger sister. Nevertheless, she has performed up to expectations which can be vital in meeting the mark.

Q: What makes you stand out from other people?
A: The fact that I am able to crap myself out of any situation and anything involving talking, crapping, expressing myself or somewhere along that line are my forte.

Q: Why should a team be proud to have you as a member?
A: With me, you have laughter, which relieves STRESS!!

Q: Why should Rajan select you to be his apprentice?
A: Because I think Rajan is to stressed up and he hardly smiles. So he needs someone who is not only able to help him out, but to entertain him as well.

Meet Regina
Name: Regina Leong
Age: 17
Occupation: Tattoo and piercing artist
Team: Paperbagg

Regina, number 16 on the class register. Small sized but has a lot within her, Regina has a quick tongue which she uses against others.

"Beware, beware of the tongue!"

In business, its good to get yourself heard.

Q: What are your strengths and weaknesses?
A: I am very driven and will do anything to get what I want. On the other hand, that can be seen as a weakness too…

Q: How would you describe your working style?
A: I multi-task. A lot.

Q: Why should Rajan hire you?
A: He should hire me because I’m always early.

Meet the all new DMC Apprentice Season 1 cast! 18 new candidates will be vying to be the apprentice of Mr. M. Thiyagarajan (Rajan). Each week, the candidates will be given a task in which the losing team must face Mr. Rajan in the board room. At least one candidate will be fired each week. Mr. Rajan will be aided by his two advisors, namely, Mr. Lee Chong Hwa and Ms. Phyllis Peter.

Recently, our class mascot Loveable Lambie Lambkins decided to take a trip to the North East of Singapore.

Unfortunately, he had no idea where Nicole or Kay Miang lived, so he was unable to pay them a visit, much to his disappointment.

Nevertheless, Lambie had a fun time riding the rails on NEL and the SengKang LRT.

Lambie took many pictures on the way and even tried a bit of the famous Jalan Kayu roti prata.

3 hour breaks

How's everyone enjoying the 3 hour breaks our oh-so-nice school has provided us with. Comign to think of it, most of us only have one 3 hour break due to the class splitting up nicely for GEMs with 1/3 in Understanding Weather (Fri), 1/3 in Genes and You (Fri) and another 1/3 in Human Resource (Wed/Thu). The others, er, other courses.

Main point: Majority of the class cut their 3 hour breaks to 1.

On the other extreme, poor Miss Nad has three 3 hour breaks due to her GEM on Wednesday. Upside, she gets to go out of campus during them.

Anyway, Ben & Jerry's was good today. And I suppose the rest of them who went to Gelare enjoyed themselves too.

Main point: 3 hour breaks with nothing to do and time to eat ice-cream are enjoyable.

Let's hope for more opportunities. Have a good last available 3 hour break next Tuesday before the major MMR project starts. =)

It all began during the DVPA lesson.
17 teenagers of varying ages were cooped up in "The Learning Space".
Heh, that sounds like a labratory where they do nasty disections....
But, its not. Its just a white room with Mac computers, get what I mean?

And his phone was kidnapped (or, more appropriately, phone-napped).
By a girl.
Her name was Alison.
And she took it.
And put it on her lap.

And what did he do?
He tried to grab it.
But...
Highlight to read (beware, may be disturbing): He grabbed her! Well, he did but didn't. Not really... But he tried.
